about the designer

Hey, there. My name is Kristen, and I run the show here (at least when my toddler’s not around).

I started this business because I was tired of seeing countless examples of bad design across the equine industry, and I wanted to provide an alternative for those who are looking to change that for their own business. I’m a lifelong student, enthusiast, and owner of horses, a formally-trained graphic and website designer, a self-proclaimed language nerd—and I’m here to build better equine brands.

With degrees in Art and English, I’ve worked professionally in the Graphic Design and Marketing industries for close to ten years as an in-house designer and creative strategist.

And one day I realized that I wasn’t loving my work anymore. I was no longer passionate about what I was working on, and in my gut I knew there was something missing that I desperately needed to find.

Between decisions around what to do next, I had the opportunity to take on a handful of equine-related projects, and was reminded during my researching that there are a lot of opportunities in the industry—opportunities to not only improve what I saw visually, but also to help equine professionals better their business through good design, branding, and messaging.

In short, I created this studio to pursue the things that bring me joy in my day-to-day work, and to help equine business owners and individuals better their brands with strategic, thoughtful design.
